Good Day

Our residential property was broken into early hours of this morning (+-1:00am - 17/07/2010), whereby they gained access over the electric fence and then proceeded to knock out two panels of the durawall. My son - whose room is outside (flatlet) heard the commotion and noise - as him and his friend were getting ready to go out. They must of disturbed the intruders, as he presssed the panic alarm.

RSS reacted within a couple of minutes, but by then, the intruders had run across the road and got through a hole in the river's fence - river side and hid or ran into the river, as RSS checked and could not see anyone. My point here is - there is an Electric Station between our property and the neighbour, that is not fenced off and on numerous occasions, people have been seen relieving themselves behind the station and an ideal hiding place for robbers/intruders, whereby on this occassion they obviously stood and looked over our wall to see where they could jump and what they could access steal, as they could not be observed from the road.

Please could you advise who we could contact asap in order to have a pallasade fence erected around the station, so no access can be gained by the public, as we are aware that the electricity company would need to have access in case of electrical problems.

Your urgent reply would be appreciated, as we feel they will be back to gain entrance in the same way, as they can hide without being detected behind this station.

Thank you
Kind Regards

[Resident]

Cllr bittkau

I prefer that you advice us to erect a fence instead of asking why there's none. There's so many others in the city without any fencing and nothing happens. If I have to answer why a 40 years substation is not fenced then I will have to find out a planner who is probably on pension to tell me why.

Louis/gerrit

Please erect a fence or palisade whatever we can afford to do quickly.

Thanx
Silas
